Still looking for a broadcaster to sell its collective television rights, the Professional Football League is in discussions with Appel TV, which is seeking to acquire international rights.

The days are passing and the creation of a 100% Ligue 1 channel broadcast by the Professional Football League seems to be the only possible outcome to date, a month and a half before the resumption: “We are working on the allocation of rights, it is not finished, we are in the middle of negotiations. We have a very complicated and very complex subject which gives uncertainty to clubs. We haven’t succeeded so far. I take my part, of course. We do our best. It will undoubtedly be less beneficial for the clubs. But there is a path which is quite simply to turn a theoretical constraint into an opportunity by taking our destiny in our hands with our own media.insisted Vincent Labrune, president of the LFP, during his hearing in the Senate.

In addition to these difficulties regarding domestic rights, Ligue 1 has recently attracted a new suitor regarding its international rights. According to information relayed by RMC Sport, Apple TV regularly communicates with French football authorities. The American giant would seek to acquire matches from the French championship to broadcast them in the United States as well as in a set of territories on the American continent. The only problem is that Apple is still looking for a realistic business plan to act on time. As a reminder, these international rights are only distributed between clubs participating in European competitions.
