He refuses to submit to the inspection of his transport ticket: three days of ITT for the two agents

Among the union’s demands: a dedicated live number in the event of an emergency, the establishment of a dedicated transport police, a greater prevention service… and an increase in the number of mediation agents. “There are currently 30 people but the Metropolis plans to reduce its number to 17. This is not acceptable given the situation,” specifies Hicham Tamsna, CFDT Stas union representative.

On June 20, two agents who were carrying out their mission of checking transport tickets were attacked by a user who wanted to submit to the check. The violent individual injured the two employees before fleeing. The latter, aged between 30 and 35, were prescribed three days of temporary work interruption. The scene occurred around 10 p.m. at the tram stop, Place des Ursules in Saint-Etienne.

“Our movement will not disrupt traffic”

Hicham Tamsna wonders what the authorities are waiting for to react and stem this spiral of violence: “that’s 13 attacks in three months,” he argues. On Monday, July 1, the union he represents called for a new mobilization. “We have filed a strike notice, we are going to demonstrate, starting at 10 a.m., under the windows of the prefecture so that the prefect can receive us and hear our demands.” The union representative specifies “our movement will not disrupt traffic.”

The perpetrators of attacks on Stas personnel are severely punished when they are arrested and tried. This week, a man who had hit a Stas bus driver in the Cotonne district last May was sentenced to two years in prison.
