The City has entered into a partnership with the Refuge mutualiste aveyronnais (whose head office is in the Cité du Gant) to offer an advantageous supplementary health insurance offer.

Voted by the municipal council this Thursday evening, the future municipal mutual insurance of the City of Millau will be offered to all residents from January 1, 2025. “Recourse to mutual insurance companies and, consequently, access to care is not guaranteed for all” commented Mayor Emmanuelle Gazel. “We contacted the Refuge Mutualiste, whose head office is in Millau.”

No medical questionnaire

Ahead of the debates, during a press briefing, Jean-Marie Boissière, president of the independent and supportive mutual, recalled the approach. “We are an inter-professional mutual which insures its own risks with democratic governance. The general assembly votes for the board of directors formed by volunteers.”

A “tariff shield”

All this said, remains the heart of the subject: the complementary offer. Open to all Millau residents (proof of address is sufficient to subscribe), the future municipal mutual insurance does not provide for any age limit, medical questionnaire, resource conditions or risk selection. With, also, the announcement of a “tariff shield” of an economy “up to 25% off thanks to the group rate.”
