Rabat – The Nafida 2 program, which aims to strengthen access to information and communication technologies for the benefit of the education family, exceeds the mark of 100,000 beneficiaries, three years after its launch in June 2021 by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Promotion of Social Works of Education-Training, indicates a press release from the Foundation.

Deployed as part of the implementation of the Foundation’s ten-year plan 2018-2028 and presented before His Majesty King Mohammed VI may God Help him, this program consists of the granting of a grant of up to 2,000 dirhams granted either after the purchase of the computer, or in the form of a reduction applied at the time of purchase from one of the Foundation’s partner computer equipment distributors, it is explained.

A total of 103,269 people were able to benefit from this grant requiring a financial commitment from the Foundation of 225.3 million dirhams. More than 95% of subsidy beneficiaries opted for a laptop computer while 5% of subsidized members chose desktop computers, the press release said.

In terms of geographical distribution, 15% of beneficiaries are based in the Casablanca-Settat region, 14% are in Fez-Meknes and 12% are based in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.

The Nafida 2 program also offers a 25% discount on public rates applied to 4G or fiber optic Internet connections as well as mobile phone subscriptions. Around 180,000 subscriptions have been recorded. The minimum total value of these discounts is estimated at more than 9.5 million dirhams per month.

More than 40% of the reductions concern the telephone subscription, 32% 4G Internet and 28% fiber optics, continues the same source.

Please note that access to the Nafida 2 program remains open and is done exclusively via a dedicated online platform available on the Foundation’s website: fm6education.ma, the press release concludes.
