The number of interventions on the sixteen supervised beaches of Lorient Agglomération (Morbihan) recorded a sharp drop between the summer of 2023 and the previous one, respectively 2,221 compared to 3,144. Fewer interventions by rescue swimmers and yet more assisted bathers (77 versus 63) and almost as many for a serious accident (20 and 21 respectively) as for discomfort (14 and 19).

And if a third of calls still fell under the bobologie (cuts, weever stings, etc.), one figure was down: that of children lost on the beach, 10 last summer compared to 20 the previous year.
