A Canadian production wins the BEST ARTS & CULTURE PITCH

In the Arts & Culture section of the Pitch sessions, the winner (which receives a grant of 3,000 euros) is the project THE SHAPE OF BLUE, a Canadian production by Ina Fichman (Intuitive Pictures), directed by Sybilla Patrizia.

Summary: Two Japanese indigo dyers embark on a transformative inner journey: one discovers the deeper meaning of shades of blue, while the other discovers a new way of seeing through his color blindness. Together, they fight to revive a centuries-old tradition on the verge of extinction.

The Jury’s word: “It’s a story that is both unique and universal. A fantastic cinematic immersion that promises to be a true artistic experience. »

RDVCANADA | Docs 2024

As part of its RDVCANADA mentoring initiative, Telefilm Canada welcomed its second cohort of documentary producers to its Pavilion in La Rochelle.

Armed with their documentary projects in development, the seven producers selected for RDVCANADA | Docs 2024 were able to take on this global market from June 24 to 27 in search of their next international business partners.

As part of this unique professional program led by Telefilm Canada, in collaboration with the Black Screen Office, the Indigenous Screen Office, Creative BC, Ontario Creates and SODEC, the producers had previously participated in six intensive weeks of personalized mentoring and training (with an emphasis on international co-production and distribution, as well as project presentation).

We find them in our photos on the first day of Sunny Side of the DOC with Ina Fichman who presented them with the challenges they will face during these 4 days of the market.

One last wink
