Le Havre sanctioned and insurgent
Fifteenth in the last edition of Ligue 1, the oldest club in French football was penalized by the DNCG. Indeed, HAC saw its payroll supervised by the control body. The Le Havre leaders reacted quickly:
“Following the hearing of representatives of the HAC management on 12 June, and the transmission, since then, of the required additional documents, the National Management Control Department of the Professional Football League has made the expected decision and imposed a framework for the club’s payroll.
An announcement that comes as no surprise, a logical consequence of the double punishment inflicted on HAC.
Indeed, no one is unaware that the HAC is the only Ligue 1 club not to have benefited from the funds negotiated within the framework of the agreement with CVC which was intended in particular to consolidate and strengthen the clubs’ own funds. . The majority shareholder therefore had to replace this scandalous imbalance.
Furthermore, as the bad soap opera around TV rights drags on, French football as a whole is weakened, as these revenues represent the main source of income for French clubs in general and for HAC in particular.
This decision was, however, anticipated by the club’s management, which has been working for several weeks on building a squad, guided by its budgetary situation.
Le Havre disadvantaged?
Jean-Michel Roussier, President of HAC, spoke this Friday: “ It was expected, it’s a logical decision, there’s nothing to say. The DNCG did the job, period. This is a direct consequence of what we suffer from non-regulation of HVAC.
