It’s the last weekend of June, and if the first round of the legislative elections takes place this Sunday, June 30, you will also have at your disposal a wide choice of ideas for outings in Toulouse: electronic siestas, the Tangopostale festival, the Mojito festival and the Marathon des mots. This weekend, head to the Jardin Compans-Caffarelli in Toulouse for a musical outing: the Siestes électroniques. A program that promises rich and varied moments. On Saturday, June 29, the people of Toulouse will be able to discover the art of Johana Beaussart with her cinema for the ear and her experimental pop, followed by Piotr Kurek who mixes baroque music and experimental free jazz. In the evening, Bela, Ronce and HA KYOON will offer a performance combining poems, industrial music and field recordings. The day will continue with AWWWARA and its contemporary Georgian folklore, before diving into the Nordic melodies of Clarissa Connelly, and ending with the explosive multi-genre rhythms of Ojoo.
The next day, Sophie Bernado will explore the multiple facets of the bassoon, before giving way to Nexcyia, Exzald S and mu tate for an immersion in undulating frequencies and ghostly rhythms. In the evening, Natural Wonder Beauty Concept will combine ethereal synthesizers with incisive jungle rhythms. James K will follow up with teenage refrains in search of intensity, and Manuka Honey will conclude the weekend with a chaotic and sensual vision of club music.

Tango comes to Toulouse for a weekend

And if you like tango… Toulouse is hosting an event this weekend that you will enjoy: the Tangopostale festival is back for its 15th anniversary.e edition from Friday June 28 to Monday July 8. Throughout the event, attendees will be able to enjoy many hours of outdoor and indoor dancing, featuring traditional and neo tango styles. These ten days of festival will be hosted by live orchestras such as the Orquesta Silbando and the Trio Cafetín, as well as international DJs. In addition, courses with renowned maestros such as Gisela Passi and Rodrigo Rufino are planned, as well as various workshops for all levels.
The weekend will end in style at Mas Tolosa with evenings dedicated to tango, live concerts, stands and relaxation areas. Note that the opening evening at the Nouvelle Maison du Tango is already sold out, and that changes to locations and times for certain courses should be checkedFinally, Tangopostale is playing extra time until July 8 with a concert by Louise Jallu, in partnership with the Toulouse Festival.

An outing for the Mojito Festival in Toulouse

What if you went out this weekend to the Mojito Festival in Toulouse? Since Thursday June 27, the event has been taking place in six Toulouse establishments until Saturday June 29. Participants can enjoy Happy Hour with mojitos and virgin mojitos at reduced prices. In addition, the organizers invite Toulouse residents to “put on their best Cuban outfit and wear their best smile to immerse themselves in a unique festive experience”. At each bar and evening, entertainment awaits fans of this cocktail. Indeed, armed with their phone, they will be able to participate in challenges and win gifts like a trip to Cuba for example, or small items like mojito straws and t-shirts.
To participate, simply go to one of the bars participating in the event. Then go to the Bar l’Arrosoir, to the Maison, Au Fur et à Mesure, to the Snapper Rock, to the Pepponita or even to the Moloko Bar. All offer a musical evening hosted either by DJs or music groups. An event to be enjoyed in moderation, alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health.

Artists in Toulouse for the Marathon of Words

Finally, the Marathon des Mots invites bibliophiles to go out to Toulouse this weekend. Indeed, since Tuesday June 25, the literary festival has been held in different places in the Pink City with a total of more than 130 meetings given to Toulouse residents until Sunday June 30. This new edition marks its 20e anniversary by highlighting contemporary authors and current themes through readings, meetings and performances.
Guests include French and international writers such as Édouard Louis and Eleanor Catton. You will also find there this weekend, Magyd Cherfi, Laurent Binet, Kim Higelin and even Jean-Pierre Martin. It is an opportunity to listen to and meet these men and women specialists in words, but also to meet in the different cultural places of the Pink City such as the Le Lumière cinema, the José Cabanis media library, the Carmelite chapel and so many others…
