An armchair. Clémentine Autain had little to worry about in the 11th constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis, where she has been the Insoumise MP for seven years. The candidate invested by LFI within the New Popular Front (NFP), despite her differences on internal democracy within the party, emerged from this first Sunday of early legislative elections with a score of 62.65 %. A score higher than that of the Insoumise aux Européennes list on June 19 (37.2%, far ahead of the RN at 16.9%), which augured a pole position.

Find on our dedicated pages the candidates in your constituency and, on June 30 from 8 p.m., the results of the first round of the legislative elections in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and throughout France.

With 62.65 % in Sevran-Tremblay-Villepinte, therefore, Autain is doing better than in 2017 (37.2%) and than in 2022 (46.15%). She is well ahead of RN candidate Renée Joly who, however, progressed with 18.88% of the votes, compared to 10.71% in the first round in 2022.

Clementine Autain at Matignon?

In addition to the two women, five other candidates were seeking the votes of the constituency’s voters: Fayza Basini (Ensemble! – Horizons) who received 10.44% of the vote, Lucien Belzane (extreme left, 0%), Max Maran (LR, 4.68%), Kahina Näit-Kaci (various right, 2.26%) and Charlotte Séchet (LO, 1.09%).

If the New Popular Front were to win the majority in the second round, the former communist elected official from Paris, who was said to have presidential ambitions three months before the dissolution, has already expressed her interest in Matignon, placing herself among the personalities capable of taking on the role, like Jean-Luc Mélenchon of whom she said again last Sunday in the newspaper La Tribune that “it is clear that today he is not the personality who can achieve consensus. It is a fact.”
