Tuesday morning, thirteen people were arrested as part of an anti-drug raid. The public prosecutor announces that ten are being referred this Friday. They are aged 20 to 39 years old.

A judicial investigation has been opened for “transport, possession, offer and unauthorized acquisition of narcotics as well as participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing an offense punishable by 10 years of imprisonment”.

Eight of those concerned have criminal records, six of whom are repeat offenders.

In several districts of Nice, notably Ariane and Liserons

The preliminary investigation was opened last January. Investigators from the narcotics brigade of the Local Judicial Police Service (SLPJ) had their sights set on a narcotics sales network established in several districts of Nice, notably Ariane and Liserons.

After numerous investigations relating to the circuits and places likely to house narcotics, the SLPJ of Nice, assisted by numerous personnel from the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police, also with the support of the RAID, proceeded this Tuesday 25 June to a major operation of arrests and searches.

More than 42kg of cannabis resin were seized, as well as 330g of cocaine, 735g of weed, €40,000 in cashbut also twelve weapons including a Kalashnikov submachine gun, a UZI submachine gun and several handguns, including 9 mm caliber. A vehicle was also seized.

The prosecution has issued orders for the ten people brought before it to be placed in pre-trial detention.
