Akhenaton, Soso Maness, Fianso and a collective of rappers unveil a song against the extreme right

French rappers are taking a stand against the RN and are releasing a song against the far right on Monday evening, the day after the first round of the legislative elections.

The song is called Not passlike the slogan of the opponents of Franco, in Spain, in 1936. A collective of about twenty rappers (Sofiane, Zola, Kerchak, RK, Soso Maness, Zed, UZI, ASHE 22, Nahir, ISK, Mac Tyer, Alkpote, Cokein, Akhenaton, Pit Baccardi, Seth Gueko, Demi Portion, Decimo, Relo, Costa. Produced by DJ Kore) has just released a title against the extreme right.

Often incisive in his words, Not pass is full of punchlines addressed to Jordan Bardella, the president of the National Rally, the Le Pen family and Éric Zemmour (Reconquête!), denouncing the past of the French extreme right.

“It’s not about a daily vote, we have to fight/It’s not a candidate, it’s the ideas that we have to fight. (…) The world is leaning to the right and our dreams, their clan has hanged them/Nothing has changed, I prefer the outstretched hand to the outstretched arm”, says, for example, Akhenaton at the end of the song.

“Youth annoys the National Front”

Brought together under the leadership of producer and composer Djamel Fezari, aka DJ Kore, and artistic director Ramdane Touhami, the artists began producing this ten-minute long piece the day after the European elections, in which the National Rally (RN) came out on top.

“It’s the new version of ‘Youth annoys the National Front'”, the punchline of a 40-year-old song, still chanted in demonstrations against the extreme right, believes Ramdane Touhami. The song also recalls, by its title, the anti-racist song 11:30 against racist lawsreleased in 1997, also with Akhenaton.

All revenues generated by this track will be donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation, the collective states in the video. Beyond this collective, other voices in the hip-hop sphere have called for voting during the legislative campaign, such as heavyweights like Soprano or DJ Snake.
