An announcement that concerns motorists. This Wednesday June 26the municipality of Montauban confirmed that work on the wastewater network will be carried out Grand Rue Sapiac from July 1st. Consequently, traffic on this road will be modified.

A month of work

This project, which should last a monthwill include the “open trench rehabilitation and the resumption of the wastewater network in cantilever in place on the Tescou bridge”, the City detailed. Thus, due to the permanent road traffic on this axis but also for safety reasons:

  • the Grand Rue Sapiac sera closed to traffic on its lower part (from the bridge to the roundabout rue de l’Abbaye)
  • the traffic will be maintained in both directions from rue du Tescou to allée du Consul-Dupuy
  • Residents’ parking will be forbidden during the active phases of the construction site and access to neighboring properties will be maintained in all circumstances

In activity until July 7, the Françis-Jourdain nursery school will be accessible via the Tescou bridge, before exiting rue Alphonse-Jourdain via rue des Bains. To facilitate traffic, the Montalbanese municipality has indicated that signals will be implemented in the coming days.

Waste collection impacted

A final waste collection before work will be carried out Friday June 28 for selective sorting et Saturday June 29 for household waste. But, during the work, “users will not have to take out their bins,” explained the City. For this reason, two collection points will be put in place until August 1st : one before the bridge on Grand Rue Sapiac (at rue du Tescou) and one side on rue de l’Abbaye.
