This disappearance, considered worrying, had mobilized well beyond the teenager’s relatives. Guillaume, an ARPD volunteer, had conducted his own investigation on the ground. The YouTuber Marine B. had also made a video dedicated to the case, viewed more than 62,000 times. The Child Focus foundation had for its part launched a major search campaign. In vain.
On June 27, prompted by information, the Belgian police finally located and found Juliette Goormans, alive and in good health, at the home of a resident of Villeurbanne (Rhône). The man was questioned at length and his home searched. Although the teenager showed slight mental retardation, she seemed to be staying with this man of her own free will. The nature of their relationship has not been revealed.
