Nièvre is placed on Orange alert for snow and ice, this Thursday, November 21. The prefecture has just published an order limiting speed on the roads.
Due to current weather conditions, the Nièvre prefecture has issued an order limiting speed on the roads of Nièvre:
“Between Thursday, November 21 at 11 a.m. until Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10 a.m., the maximum authorized speed of vehicles or combinations of vehicles of more than 7.5 tonnes GVW, assigned to the transport of people and goods, is limited to 70km/h on the department's main roads and highways.

These same vehicles are prohibited from carrying out overtaking or changing lane maneuvers when, on the roadway, at least one lane of traffic is covered with snow or ice on all or part of its surface.”
The prefecture also indicates: “Other measures may be taken depending on the evolution of the weather situation.”
