Since its introduction in 2020, more than 160,000 Polestar 2 were delivered around the world. In order to continue its momentum, the Swedish electric brand has decided to make some changes to its first electric vehicle introduced to the market. Although these are not major, Polestar hopes that this will increase its sales.

Few aesthetic changes

For the 2025 model year, the Polestar 2 remains easily recognizable with aesthetic changes that only connoisseurs of the brand will recognize. First, there will be 2 new paint color choices. The first is called Vapor (light gray) and will replace Magnesium (darker gray) as the standard color. The second, which bears the name Storm, was seen on the Polestar 4 for the first time. It replaces the Thunder color on the Polestar 2. In addition to these two new colors, the 2025 Polestar 2 also receives new 19-inch aerodynamic wheels as well as 20-inch graphite wheels with the Pro Pack package.

The interior, for its part, remains in line with the exterior, making very few changes. The new feature is the interior upholstery in Bridge of Weir’s Charcoal Nappa leather. The latter is intended to be animal-friendly, according to the manufacturer. When the Pro Pack is selected, it adds black seat belts that incorporate a Swedish gold stripe.

A range that varies

Depending on the version, the autonomy of the Polestar 2 2025 changes slightly compared to last year. For example, the rear-wheel drive version with 19-inch wheels loses 10 kilometers of range. However, it remains the one which offers the longest autonomy with 505 kilometers. In contrast, the dual-motor version with 20-inch wheels with the performance package gains the most range with an additional 12 kilometers. Despite everything, it offers less autonomy with 409 kilometers.

Align with others

The changes to the structure of the option packages on the 2025 Polestar 2 align with the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. It is therefore now possible to choose each package individually. Thus, the manufacturer hopes to seek additional sales.

It is already possible to configure a 2025 Polestar 2 online through the manufacturer’s configurator. Its starting price is set at $57,600, including freight and preparation fees. At present, the latter is eligible for the provincial rebate of up to $7,000. All that remains is for the federal list to be updated in order to confirm its full eligibility for both levels.
