“The Ayrolle senior residence project will not be done as it was imagined”

The future of the senior residence project on Boulevard de l’Ayrolle was raised by Karine Haumaitre, through a miscellaneous question, during the municipal council meeting this Thursday, June 27.

This Thursday, June 27, first big heat, launch of the Natural Games festival and… city council! 43 points were on the agenda, a large part of which was devoted to the renewal of sponsorship agreements for the next season of the Maison du Peuple theater.

Future of the project

If the councillor Emmanuelle Gazel opened this council with a long word on the current political context on the national level a few days before the first round of the legislative elections, it was after two hours of council that the big news of the evening fell, when answering the miscellaneous question posed by the opposition elected Karine Haumaitre, on the future of the senior residence project in Ayrolle supported by Kaufman & Broad.

“This project will not be done as it was imagined under the previous mandatebegan Emmanuelle Gazel before revealing the underside of this turnaround. The initial manager withdrew, Kaufman & Broad tried to find another one before wanting to turn to an independent living facility with a Toulouse developer. The problem is that it doesn’t work in the same way as a senior living facility, with approval, which the Department didn’t want to give, saying that an Ehpad had already opened. There is no longer a project today with a compromise that was reached at the end of last year. We have since met other project leaders and it is urgent. We haven’t talked about it until now because we prefer to talk about problems when we have a solution, now we only have leads, we’ll talk about it again at the start of the school year. But it is still a project thought up under the previous mandate that presents difficulties.” A conclusion which caused the last two members of the Millau en action group, who were watching the council meeting from the audience that evening, to leave, angry.

Full report of the municipal council to be found in the next paper edition of the Journal de Millau on July 4.
