Farmers from the Rural Coordination union continue their mobilization throughout France, while the government denounces illegitimate actions.
They feel abandoned and ignored. Since Tuesday, November 19, farmers from the Rural Coordination union have been installed on the A9 motorway near the town of Boulou in the Pyrénées-Orientales, no far from the Spanish border. They want to block trucks coming from Spain as a protest. “We don't have the money anymore, we have to stay here“, says Henri Rodriguez, winegrower. These protest actions are multiplying almost everywhere in France. In Gironde, a pile of manure was installed in front of the town hall of Pessac.
Faced with this situation and these blocking actions, the government has warned the union. “We said it from the outset… It’s legitimate. Attacking property and people, permanently blocking the country, that is not acceptable“, declared Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture, while the FNSEA announced new actions from Tuesday to next Thursday.
