Investigators carried out six searches and four arrests in connection with urban violence and drug trafficking over the last week in Quebec.
MALSAIN project investigators, accompanied by ENRCO investigators and other units of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ), have been busy since November 13 in the areas of Val-Bélair, Charlesbourg and Limoilou.
A man and a woman aged 50 were arrested for offenses relating to the possession and trafficking of drugs.
A man and a woman aged 48 and 39 were also arrested for drug trafficking, aggravated assault, robbery, false imprisonment and assault with a weapon.
The suspects are currently in custody and were scheduled to appear at the courthouse. During the searches, various narcotics were seized. The investigation began last August.
The MALSAIN project, an initiative of the SPVQ, was launched in February 2019 to counter an increase in violence linked to drug trafficking by organized crime.
