Monday November 18, 2024, two cases of pulmonary tuberculosis were detected in the Libourne nursery school, indicates the Regional Health Agency (ARS) in a press release.
THE two children were quickly taken care of and “no longer present a risk” for the community concerned.
The anti-tuberculosis center (CLAT) identified people who had been in “close” contact with the sick children. Screening is being “organized” to identify possible secondary cases to avoid a propagation of the disease.
In view of the situation, the CLAT and the ARS will “expand” screening to all establishments affected by these two cases of tuberculosis.
An information meeting for parents
To best inform parents of students and school staff about the screeninga meeting is organized by CLAT. It will take place this Thursday, November 21 at 4 p.m. at the Jean Jaurès school in Libourne.
As a reminder, people at risk for tuberculosis are the very young children and the people vulnerable.
