The competition for the most beautiful market in France, organized by TF1 with Midi Libre and the regional press, was a huge success this year, with more than eight million votes recorded.
Marie-Sophie Lacarrau announced it live on Thursday, on the 1 p.m. news on TF1: the Niort market halls in Poitou-Charentes have this year won the competition for the most beautiful market in France, organized by the leading European channel and regional press titles, including Midi Libre.
Niort therefore succeeds La Réole, in Aquitaine (2023 winner), and Narbonne (2022).
The 2024 list
This year, the Audruicq market, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, and that of Louhans, in the Burgundy region, complete the podium, followed by Sedan (Champagne-Ardenne) and Céret (Occitanie).
Designated this year to represent the Pyrénées-Orientales, then crowned winner in Languedoc-Roussillon, the Catalan market therefore ended up regional champion in Occitanie and finalist at the national level, where it even made it into the top 5.
Quite a journey from his first participation!
