HOCKEY. In the “We didn’t see it coming” category, the Granby Bisons have probably just taken everyone by surprise among their fans and throughout the LHSAAAQ when they acquired the excellent goaltender, Frédéric Piché , and forward Alexis Millette, of the Montagnards de Beaupré.

Member of the defunct Climatisation Cloutier of Trois-Rivières, which has since become the Montagnards of Beaupré, the 32-year-old veteran goalkeeper no longer needs any introductions. In the eyes of several observers who follow the activities of the Cyr circuit, Piché is considered the best goalkeeper in the LHSAAAQ. And the personal statistics of the main interested party speak for themselves. Since the 2018-2019 season, in 85 games, he has had a record of 54 wins, 25 losses, four overtime losses and one shootout loss and maintained an efficiency percentage of .908 and an average of 3.23.

Already counting on the services of a top goalkeeper in the person of Marc-Antoine Dufour, the Bisons are adding a significant workforce to their lineup with the arrival of Frédéric Piché.

In addition to Piché, Alexis Millette is also coming to Granby. Last season, he scored 21 points in eleven regular season games in Trois-Rivières. The 31-year-old forward then distinguished himself during the playoffs by collecting 25 points in 12 games.

To receive, you have to give. The Bisons therefore had to part with their 1st, 6th and 10th round picks in 2024 as well as winger Christophe Chiasson. Future considerations are also added to this transaction, which was confirmed this morning by the Granby organization on social media.
