Paris Saint-Germain is doing rather well. This Thursday, the capital’s handball club discovered the name of its future opponents during the draw for the next Champions League. The Parisians were placed in Group A alongside the Hungarians of Veszprem, the only big name in the group.
The French champion was luckier than Nantes, the other team qualified for the competition. In Group B, the Loire-Atlantique club will face FC Barcelona, defending champion, the Germans from Magdeburg, the Danes from Aalborg, both also in the Final Four in June, as well as the Poles from Kielce.
In the girls’ category, the national champions Messines were lucky, like PSG. In Group A, they will be the only ones to have participated in the 2024 final four. They had been beaten by the Germans from Bietigheim in the Final Four.
Group B, in which Brest are located, is much denser. The French will meet the Hungarians from Györ, defending champions, the Danish from Esbjerg, semi-finalists, as well as the Norwegians from Kristiansand, titled from 2021 to 2023.
