The Channel sees orange. Like 27 other departments in a strip stretching from northern Brittany to the borders of eastern France, it was placed on orange snow and ice alert for this Thursday November 21, 2024 from 6 a.m. In total, 38 other departments are also in yellow vigilance.

“At this stage, the Channel should be affected in the south of the department. In this part of the department, the prefect of Manche recommends to avoid taking the road during the snow phenomenon», inform state services.

Advice on the roads

Snowflakes may also fall on the Manche coastparticularly in the west. Up to ten centimeters could be expected on the heightsin the Saint-Loise regionin Villedieu-les-Poêles and in the south, fifteen on the side of Sourdeval and the Mont Robin .

The prefecture therefore advises adapting your speed on the roads, increasing your safety distances, respecting the traffic restrictions and diversions put in place, facilitating the passage of clearance vehicles, salting the roads and clearing the sidewalks near your home.
