UEFA Verdict Announced Following Match Abandonment by Kosovo

Following the disruption caused by Kosovo, UEFA declared Romania victorious.

The Nations League match between Romania and Kosovo was abandoned after the visitors left the field. UEFA has now delivered its verdict.

After the Nations League match between Romania and Kosovo was abandoned, the European Association awarded the victory to the hosts with a score of 3-0. The Kosovo team, led by German coach Franco Foda, left the field in injury time on Friday evening in Bucharest with the score 0-0. Reports suggest the team felt provoked by Romanian fans in the stands who allegedly chanted pro-Serb slogans.

This decision confirms Romania’s rise to League B, while the former World Cup participant was three points ahead of Kosovo in the standings. However, due to the racist and discriminatory behavior of their fans, the hosts will have to play their next home match behind closed doors. Additionally, UEFA imposed several fines totaling €128,000.
