The Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure would now like us to speak of a single “domain”. A tourist, nature, sports area… thought of as a whole. But for this, we must better connect the 1,800 hectares and the numerous lakes between them. Today, it is almost only possible by car. So that tomorrow, it will be a more peaceful area, that it will be possible to walk, cycle or ride an electric cart without having to take the winding roads of the dams, the non-profit organization which manages the site has designed a huge footbridge at the above the Eau d’Heure. Objective: to connect Plate-Taille (reception center, fun space, red crocodile) to Falinfluence, which will undergo major redevelopment work by 2027 to become an aquatic leisure area, with a diving board, geysers, etc.
In Wallonia’s recovery plan (the work must be completed by December 31, 2026 at the latest), the Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure would therefore like to reserve 3.5 million euros to create this footbridge, which would go from bottom of the dam on the other bank of the Eau d’Heure, on the concrete area. There are 190 meters. “From there, the Ravel can take you to Falinfluence. There would only be a 15-minute bike ride between the two lakes.”says Arthur Hardy, advisor to the non-profit association.

For the moment, if the financing has stopped (or almost), it is mainly the design office which is working on the construction of this footbridge. It must in fact be cycle-pedestrian, to allow gentle travel, but also provide an unexpected panorama of water, of nature, perhaps even of the future geysers of Falinfluence. “The place must be Instagrammable, also designed for selfies: we see that it worked quite well in Lyon, or in Limburg closer to us. It’s a type of infrastructure that’s not very common here, although there is the Belle Liégeoise in the city center of the Cité Ardente, but we imagine something lighter, more natural, more modern. “
