INFO “20 Minutes” – The police discovered ammunition in their vehicle, but also wigs, a jerrycan of gasoline and license plates
They were arrested during a routine traffic stop. As revealed by France 3, two men were arrested during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Ajaccio, Corsica. The driver’s drug test came back positive, prompting police to continue their search. Inside the vehicle, they notably discovered 19 Winchester 270 category C cartridges. The two men were taken into police custody for “traffic offenses and violation of weapons legislation”.
“These are young individuals, one of whom was recently convicted by the Bastia Court of Appeal and the other known to the courts for traffic offenses,” indicates to 20 Minutes the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Septe. According to our information, the suspects are, however, well known to the police who consider them to be “figures” of “island organized crime”. When questioned, the magistrate told us that he had “no comment to make on this point”.
