The City of Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise) launched the 13th on Monday, November 18e edition of Industry Week.
Georges Mothron, mayor (Dvd) of Argenteuil and 2nd vice-president, in charge of economic development of Boucle Nord de Seine, and Camille Gicquel, deputy mayor and 7th vice-president of Boucle Nord de Seine, in charge of economic attractiveness and support for businesses, inaugurated the event at Poulpe Français, a digital printer located on Boulevard Héloïse.
“This identity that reinvents itself”
Historically an industrial territory, Argenteuil still claims today “this identity which reinvents itself”. The town hall speaks of a “new industrial era that is being written”.
Until November 22, several companies (Wartner Group, AGP Group, Hexagone Manufacture, CGM, Univeira, Quart de Lait) are opening their doors.
“The challenge is to bring out vocations, deconstruct clichés and further strengthen the industry ecosystem in Argenteuil.”
Argenteuil, 183,300 jobs
Sixth employment center in the Ile-de-France region with 183,300 employees including 3,000 in industry, Argenteuil, 110,000 inhabitants, has seen in recent years the departure of several industrial flagships, such as Sagem, Dassault Aviation (still present but leaving for Cergy ), Pirelli, Yoplait, Semperit… A blacklist that the City would like to forget to remember that it was labeled in 2018, with Boucle Nord de Seine, “Territory of Industry” by the State and that it works “in return to productive activity.
Bricqueville, Urban Valley, Potel et Chabot
At the heart of this project, the three economic activity parks, which extend over 220 hectares. The Porte Saint-Germain – Berges de Seine sector, on which the town hall has been working for several years with the State, saw the opening of a B&B hotel and the extension of Bricqueville. For the municipality, this sounds like the beginning of a reconquest. With Urban Valley, supported by the Greater Paris metropolis on the former Yoplait site, Argenteuil awaits the Parisian caterer Potel et Chabot, which will refocus all the activities of its laboratories in Paris.
In the station area, the Argenteuil Littoral project (announced in 2017), carried with the Greater Paris metropolis: 23,512 m, is planned.2 activities and offices. And finally there is the Val d’Argent activity zone.
Yamaha Motors
“Nationally, Argenteuil remains one of the most competitive territories in the aeronautics and aerospace industry. It brings together experts from the sector.”
The municipality cites Elno, Etna Industrie, and Yamaha Motors as examples. The Japanese company has just set up on Boulevard Héloïse, not far from the market, on an industrial wasteland at the junction of the Val-Notre-Dame districts and the city center.
