Rain and sunshine with absent subscribers. In Laval, since the beginning of November, it's been 50 shades of gray, a sticky month of autumn that will take a toll on your morale.

So, when was the sun last time? “Very good question, I don’t know anymore”replies this Mayennaise wrapped up under her umbrella.

“We have had years where it was cold, but with a little sunshine. There, it is cold and it is cloudy,” grimaces a Laval resident between two downpours.

You just want to stay in bed, not go out

Gray as never before, so much so that Laval has set a record: that of the least sunny city in the Great West and even in all of France, since November 1, according to Stéven Tual, meteorologist at Temps Breton. “The absence of sunshine has never been so lasting in the Laval sector. Only six minutes of sunshine in twelve days is really very weak. Basically, from October 26 to November 15, we only had two days of sunshine is really very little”, he notes.

Gloomy weather and low morale. With the arrival of winter and the days getting shorter, nearly one in ten French people suffer from seasonal depression. To remedy this, there is notably light therapy, natural method which compensates for the lack of light in winter. “The sun provides natural vitamin D and it also stimulates the hormone of well-being, happiness, serotonin. So without sun, no pleasure. We therefore try to find natural alternatives”, explain Elodie Moullière, store manager It's a bathroom.
