It was hot during the night from Wednesday to Thursday in several large cities but the tropical night phenomenon was very marked in Paris.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in Paris, the thermometer only fell below 20°C for a few minutes at the official Météo France station in Paris Montsouris (14th arrondissement). A little further north, at the Saint-Germain-des-Prés station (6th arrondissement), the temperature was still 23°C at 3 a.m.

Paris, like Bordeaux in particular, therefore experienced a truly tropical night even if, officially, the temperature should not have dropped below 20°C during the night. However, for a few minutes, the Paris Montsouris station displayed an average temperature of 19°9C.

But the feeling of stifling heat largely enveloped the capital during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. A sudden change in temperature after weeks of gray and rain.

The phenomenon is not expected to persist over time since temperatures, well above seasonal averages, are expected to drop during the night from Thursday to Friday in Paris after five consecutive days of continuous rise.
