Francisco Palomar is a happy and modest president: “I have a great team of volunteers with me, each responsible for their own area.” The figures are there: the number of members has increased by 10%, the same is true of all the activities which are progressing, with a notable evolution for some.
Thus the geopolitical conferences like all the other conferences which have found their rhythm and their audience: history of the arts, one Monday per month and other conferences every other Thursday afternoon. These have varied themes such as history, heritage, health, etc. The conference which had the greatest public success, with a full house, focused on the Beatles (a second part on the same subject will be offered at the start of the school year). The conference on artificial intelligence was also a full house.
Traditional activities such as language courses or calligraphy have a loyal audience. A sign of a rejuvenation of members or an evolution of society: sports activities (aquagym, pilates, Nordic walking) are popular. The new feature of last year’s school year, the half-day discovery walk, is very popular.
“We are listening to the public to best meet their expectations”says Francisco Palomar. He also wants to launch an appeal to choristers to strengthen the Ritournelles choir, directed by the talented Ruben Guiu, which has a varied repertoire and meets on Thursday mornings, from 9:30 to 11:30, at the UTT premises.
