This 25-year-old young man was driving on departmental road 496, this Wednesday early in the afternoon, between Montrond-les-Bains and Montbrison when he, for a reason still undetermined, lost control of his vehicle. He deviated from his trajectory to move to the left until leaving the road and hitting a plane tree.

under the violence of the shock

The impact occurred on the front left part of a car, which then crossed the roadway to stop on the right, just before the grassy ditch which runs alongside the two-way road. The front axle was literally torn off under the violence of the impact, as were the bumper and the grille. The accident occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the town of Boisset-lès-Montrond.

Immediately alerted, firefighters from Montrond-les-Bains and Montbrison intervened on the scene. They extricated the driver and gave him first aid. Hit in the lower limbs with suspected fracture, the victim was airlifted by the Samu 42 helicopter towards the North Hospital in Saint-Priest-en-Jarez, to the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Saint-Étienne.

Traffic was cut off in both directions and was restored approximately 1.5 hours after the accident.
