US Orléans Loiret Football maintained in National but with payroll supervision

Relief this Wednesday, June 26 for the leaders of the USO. Heard this morning before the DNCG, the Orléans club will perform well next season in National ! The financial policeman of French football has accompanied this measure with a control of the payroll “subject to confirmation of maintenance of professional status by decision of the FFF executive committee” specifies the press release from the Professional Football League. This last point will not, a priori, pose any problem.

On January 10, the DNCG downgraded the USO to National 2 “as a precautionary measure”. Sanction canceled because in the meantime, the Loiretain club changed owners with the arrival in April of Cyril Courtin. The new president of US Orléans kept his promise by putting the club’s accounts back on track. In particular, he paid off a debt estimated at 2 million euros.

The new management team has therefore passed its entrance exam, even if it has not completely convinced the DNCG since there is payroll management. A restriction that the Orléans club has already experienced in the past, including in Ligue 2. This green light from the DNCG will in any case allow the USO to accelerate recruitment. And the work is important: to date, including extensions and the first reinforcements, there are only 10 players under contract – including no attacker… while the resumption of training is scheduled for Monday July 1, under the leadership of new coach Hervé Della Maggiore.
