Convicted of violence against his parents in Corrèze, he does it again when he leaves prison

A 29-year-old man was tried this Monday, July 1, in immediate appearance in Brive. Just released from prison for violence against his parents, he reoffended during the month of June, by assaulting both of his parents.

Of the facts that he was accused of, Alexandre Chevallier only recognized one. That of not having respected the ban on appearing in Corrèze. “Yes, but it’s only because my train stopped in Brive and I had to take a connection to Souillac,” the 29-year-old man confided yesterday before the Brive criminal court.

For the rest, however, the violence against his parents, driving without a license, damage and coming into contact with his mother despite a ban, the defendant denied all of the facts.

They file a complaint against their son

On June 13, his mother contacted the police to report that her son, who was subject to a contact ban, was near their home in Aubazine. The couple then filed two complaints against their son, who had been released from prison in May, where he was already serving a sentence for violence against his mother. The father explained that two days earlier, he had been punched and had an ashtray thrown in his face by his son, who had been housed since his release from prison.

For her part, the mother claimed to have had a sudden impulse during a trip to the supermarket. “The medical certificates as well as the study of the telephone corroborate these statements. We noted 86 calls in one month between the son and his mother,” underlined the representative of the prosecution, who requested 33 months in prison, six of which were suspended.

SOS domestic violence: the number of victims supported sharply increasing in Corrèze

“Possibly sociopathic” according to psychiatrist

“This is all false. What they say is to screw me over, because I’m known for that. The phone, I had lent it to my cousin,” defended the defendant, described as potentially sociopathic by the psychiatric expert. “We have parents who blow hot and cold, who file a complaint before withdrawing. Alexandre Chevallier is someone who evolved in a violent family context, he suffers from numerous deficiencies,” argued his lawyer Chloé Sanchez.

Despite the pleaded acquittal, the court sentenced the accused to two years in prison. He will have to respect a ban on contact with his parents for three years.
