“Intolerable comments”

Without waiting, the deputy files a complaint on Monday June 24. “I accept my sexuality and these comments are intolerable,” he says. The deputy also admits to having already been the victim of homophobic attacks in 2014, during the municipal elections. “I did not follow up at the time, because my son was a minor, and he had no business being involved in this kind of affair,” he explains.

“The trivialization of homophobic speech must stop!” reacted the mayor of Rouen Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol on the social network X (formerly Twitter). Following these comments, the elected official contacted the Rouen public prosecutor.
