In recent days, the president of the Regional Union of Nursing Health Professionals of Occitanie (URPS) has received several reports from nurses at home: people claiming to have political backgrounds are showing up at the homes of elderly or fragile people and are trying to collect their proxy to vote in the next legislative elections.
Around twenty reports in a few days
“By using misleading speech and insistence, they attempt and succeed in entering the homes of elderly and/or fragile patients in order to obtain their voting proxy”warns Jean-François Bouscarain, the president of the professional organization. “Since Monday, around twenty nurses have reported the same facts to me, particularly in Gignac and Nîmes. While they are in full care, a person arrives and says that they are coming for the proxy. This is why we decided to issue an alert to professionals, patients and families.”continues the president of the URPS of Occitanie.
