Red thread, poster, etc. The 2024 edition of Accroche-Coeurs is revealed a little more, the event will be held from September 13 to 15 in Maine-et-Loire.

One of the biggest street arts festivals returns! More than 120 shows will take place on September 13, 14 and 15 in the streets of Angers, in Maine-et-Loire. A big party that will bring together dance, circus theater and music on the water or in the air. The back-to-school ritual will put respect for the environment, accessibility and inclusion at the heart of the event.

The Accroche-Coeurs in “mode”blue and glitter”

The artistic director, Marie Driaux, reveals the common theme of the year and officially announces the dress code quite early, “so that everyone has time to prepare and it will be “blue and glitter”. We want party, magic, and fantasy, so let loose! The goal is for everyone to imagine, at least until September 13, 14 and 15. There will be the sensational, the feats, the unusual, and the marvelous. You will first see a magnificent pegasus, a magnificent winged horse, symbol of the fantastic because it brings together everything that is the inspiration of poets and water, and as we are going to have fun around Maine, it was perfect!

We’re going to give you tutorials, models, lots of things to download so that everyone can have fun at home screen printing their T-shirt, with lots of glitter as long as it’s biodegradable.”

Two evenings and two gigantic shows!

On the program, according to Marie Driaux, two wonderful evenings! “We’re coming back to Friday, and it’s obviously a pleasure to work over two evenings since it will allow two gigantic shows. We will be able to look up, on the water and we will be able to look from the Tabarly quay to the Daviers space via Ralliement, Cœur de Maine, the Savate hold, there will be something for everyone since ‘we will have 123 performances. The idea is that everyone can participate and benefit. We have several shows that are translated into sign language and we have shows that invite us to question ourselves in a positive way… about what people with disabilities experience.”

Inclusive new features

For Nicolas Dufetel, deputy mayor for culture and heritage, “We’re going to continue what we started last year, that is to say a program for young audiences, but also a program for people with disabilities, with an association called which will help with the accessibility of certain shows in audio description or even know where to go in the city to see the shows properly… We’re going to replay the shows at least twice, to allow as many people as possible to see the shows… and that’s important.”
