La Vieille École, an association created at the end of 2022, recalls its current raison d’être and supports the Third Place which is organizing its first general assembly on Saturday June 29, from 2 to 8 p.m. A day of doing together: “Taking care of the inhabitants, nature and the territory resonates currently. An update will be made on the progress made, followed by our projects. » This in three stages: from 2 to 4 p.m., workshop to reflect on how to cooperate to increase our abilities to take care of all living things; from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., snack offered to young and old; and from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., general meeting.

Three discussion areas will be offered on food, energy and the memory of the Sainte-Anne School, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Loco aperitif with music and local products.

Sustainable tourism

This summer, “the Third Place offers hospitality in sustainable tourism mode” for all audiences and in particular to provide access to holidays for all with a local offer, breakfasts cooked from local production, information for discover the surroundings, a peaceful holiday in contrast to mass tourism.

An employee came to strengthen the association’s capacity to act, with the active support of the Region, the Department and Europe. La Vieille École can thus schedule learning times for the general public to decode and understand the changes that are taking place.

“Rendezvous with History” were offered around remarkable neo-Aquitaine personalities. Last meeting, this Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. with Anne-Marie Cocula-Vaillières, historian, professor emeritus of the history of modern worlds at Bordeaux-Montaigne University and president of the François-Mauriac-Malagar center. Subject: the story of Pierre de Bourdeille known as Brantôme, precursor of the role of women in society.

From the start of the school year, former students of Sainte-Anne school are invited to come and preserve her memory and pass it on. During the European Heritage Days in September, an exhibition of its archives is planned around its history.
