It is the second city in Haute-Garonne and one of the largest municipalities in Occitanie which will pass most of its traffic routes to 30 km/h.

Monday July 1, 2024, “30 km/h will become the rule”, at Colomiersas its mayor announced a few months ago, Karine Traval-Michelet.

This limitation concerns the majority of streets and roads in Colomiers. Only around twenty roads, such as certain boulevards and avenues, will remain at 50 km/h.

Several towns in Haute-Garonne already at 30 km/h

Colomiers is therefore following the movement initiated in several communes of Haute-Garonne such as Toulouse, Tournefeuille and Blagnac. It also follows Cugnaux which switched to a limit of 30 km/h last May. And also the Union.

In Colomiers, as in the previous municipalities, the same reasons are put forward: reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, but also ensuring the safety of residents and better sharing of the road.

“In order for the measure to be as readable as possible, it seemed preferable to activate this system in a single step on all the roads in the municipality,” explained Karine Traval-Michelet.
