This 20th edition coincides with a historic event in the summer of 2024: the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. Rock en Seine will take place a few days before the start of the Summer Paralympic Games and as such, the festival will design a whole program linked to this event labeled Cultural Olympiad alongside 4 other major cultural festivals ( Angoulême International Comics Festival, the Cannes Festival, the Avignon Festival and the Arles Photographic Meetings). The Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad aims to bring together sport, culture, Olympic and Paralympic values throughout the country.

Rock en Seine 2024 programming: 20th edition!

Massive Attack, Maneskin and PJ Harvey, first headliners for an Olympic edition of Rock en Seine 2024. The Ile-de-France festival revealed this Wednesday, November 29, the first sixteen names for its Olympic edition which will take place from August 22 to 25, 2024 and will be integrated into the cultural program of the Olympic Games. Among the headliners, two artists who were from the first edition, in 2003: Massive Attack and PJ Harvey. We will find at the head of the bill two artists who were from the very first edition, in 2003: the Englishwoman PJ Harvey who will sing on Sunday and Massive Attack, who will play on Saturday. The Bristol group has not played in the national domain of Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine) since 2016. It should have come in 2020 then in 2023. The first time, the festival did not take place in due to the Covid pandemic, the second the group canceled its tour following the death of its guitarist.

Rock en Seine will also welcome for the first time the Italian phenomenon Måneskin, revealed during Eurovision 2021 and since dubbed by rock stars like Iggy Pop and Dolly Parton. They will play on Thursday, the first day of the festival, and are expected to attract a young and fervent audience, like Billie Eilish last summer. On stage, the four musicians demonstrate great generosity and enormous popularity, as proven by their recent appearances at the Lollapalooza festival and the Accor Arena. The Offspring, The Hives, The Kills, Blonde Redhead… Some guitar groups that we would describe as “cult” are also back in Saint-Cloud. The punks of The Offspring and The Hives, never disappointing live, the incandescent duo The Kills and the trio Blonde Redhead, who have just turned over La Cigale with a breathtaking show. Electro is as always in the spotlight with the wizard LCD Soundystem, Belgian geniuses from Soulwax and the queen of the dance floor Roisin Murphy.

On December 8, Rock en Seine announced a new name for its 2024 edition, and not the least: Lana Del Rey! She will give her only concert in France this summer: and the organizers have added a concert day especially for her: August 21, 2024. “This exceptional evening will begin in the company of several other artists, revealed soon,” indicate the organizers of Rock in the Seine.
