On Saturday, the Place de l’Arquebuse hosted an Olympic day. Organized jointly by the sports services, community life and events, and citizenship district, the event was placed under the sign of sporting practice, conviviality and discovery.
The public, of all ages, was able to discover a host of activities: archery, freestyle football, mountain biking trials, baby cycling, baby gym, rugby, football, basketball, climbing, MMA, badminton, Paralympic handball. The afternoon was punctuated by demonstrations from champions, such as Nicolas Vuillermot, world champion of mountain bike trials, the athletes from AuxRjudo for MMA, the dancers from Évi’danse, Valentin Vincent, freestyler football, and even Soulimane Chahbouni, specialist in hip-hop and breakdance, a new Olympic discipline.
The public was able to observe, discover and learn about the different activities to the sound of DJ Antoni Rossano who provided musical entertainment throughout the day. Exhibitions on the Olympics with the Art of lace, creative workshops and drawings in the reception and entertainment areas, a red thread in graffiti, a makeup stand, chess, a broc’sport managed by the association des Rosoirs were also in place under the covered market, an ideal place when the showers appeared. A great event which was intended above all to unite before the passing of the Olympic flame scheduled for July 11.
