The funeral of Françoise Hary, who died on June 11, will be held on June 20 from 3 p.m. in the Coupole room of the crematorium of the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris. According to “Paris Match”, the 80-year-old singer wanted to be “cremated in privacy and without religious ceremony”. According to “La Tribune Dimanche”, her ashes will be scattered in Monticello, in Corsica, where she owned a house. In 1966, she acquired land in Corsica to build a house.
Concerning her estate, she confided to “Gala” in July 2021: “I wrote my will a few years ago. I hope to leave Thomas with enough to pay the exorbitant inheritance fees that will be demanded of him, as well as the costs of a studio and an apartment where very close friends live. I have to live in the present. To think that sooner or later I will have to leave the people I love most in the world, to imagine their pain, it makes me cry. I avoid it as much as possible.”
