Changes to be expected for the supporters!

It will take a little time for all supporters to adapt next season. Indeed, between accession to Ligue 1 and the implementation of new meeting scheduling times, habits will change and supporters will have to adapt.

If football fans still do not know which media will broadcast Ligue 1 next season, they are however determined on the organization of the championship days, as well as the calendar of their favorite club. Regarding the organization, the LFP is significantly changing its broadcast schedule. Exit the Sunday meeting at 1 p.m.! This schedule was not the most clever and was decided in order to satisfy Asian viewers. It is from now on Ligue 2 which will occupy this niche.

Sunday footballers satisfied with the programming of Ligue 1 matches

As a reminder, in recent seasons, Ligue 1 broadcast matches on Fridays (9 p.m.), Saturdays (9 p.m.) and Sundays (1 p.m., 3 p.m. (3 matches), 5:05 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.). From now on, Saturdays are favored with 3 Ligue 1 matches compared to just one last season. On Sunday, the LFP wanted to go from 7 matches to only 5. Finally, nothing changes for Friday evening. Amateur footballers will certainly appreciate this change in the schedule since their matches are generally played on Sundays.

The Greens will therefore have to change their habits and adapt to a new rhythm. Good news for supporters: no more matches will be played during the week! This should allow working people to be able to attend matches without worrying about their professional organization.

Regarding the Stéphanois calendar, it will therefore begin the weekend of August 18 with a trip to Monaco. This is the 4th time in its history that the Greens and the men of the Rock have met on the occasion of a first day of Ligue 1. During ASSE’s last comeback in Ligue 1 in 1999, they met was also moved to Monaco during the first day of the championship. A funny coincidence! That day, Monegasques and Stéphanois parted with a score of parity (2-2) thanks to the achievements of Simone and Trézéguet for Monaco and Pédron and Aloisio for ASSE.

ASSE and OL subscribe to long weekends!

The LFP published the Ligue 1 calendar on June 21. A moment awaited by all supporters. The League has also communicated on its way of putting together its meeting schedule. She explains in particular that “ several versions are proposed (sometimes up to 100) before the most correct version is submitted for validation by the LFP board of directors. » Due to the Olympic Games, the LFP had to adapt to this event like others: “The calendar is drawn up after having recovered all the operating constraints, that is to say the dates when the stadiums are unavailable. This is increasing with the organization of major sporting competitions such as the Rugby World Cup organized in France in the fall of 2023. Likewise with the Paris Olympic Games. Even if the Olympics will be finished before the resumption of the championship, they postpone the work on the lawns of some of the stadiums used and require sometimes long times for dismantling and putting into Ligue 1 configuration. Seven championship clubs are affected in total. “

Concerning ASSE, each supporter quickly scanned the calendar in order to locate the dates of the two Derbys. The first leg will take place on the weekend of November 10. Good news, if the meeting takes place on Sunday evening, which is likely, the next day will be a public holiday… Enough to allow the most distant supporters to organize themselves to go to Groupama Stadium. The return will be played at Geoffroy Guichard on the weekend of April 20. Here again, good news since April 21 will also be a public holiday for the Easter holidays! No excuse, therefore, to miss the return of the Derby in the Cauldron!

Finally, Olivier Dall’Oglio’s men will meet the stars of PSG on the weekends of January 12 (at the Parc des Princes) and March 30 (at St-Etienne). Regarding Olympique de Marseille, it will be a winter reunion since the Stéphanois will welcome the Marseillais on the weekend of December 8 and will travel to the Vélodrome on February 16.
