The Buissonnière school leisure center organized its first Games Festival on Wednesday June 19, with numerous sporting activities.

Sunder the leadership of the director of the ALSH, Marine Almeida Rodrigues, and the animators, this first Game Festival allowed the children to express themselves. “We want to promote play as an essential activity for child development, a tool for learning, transmission of knowledge and education for all, cultural expression promoting intercultural and intergenerational encounters. It is a leisure activity and a source of pleasure. »

Participation in this day was free for all children registered at the leisure center. The regulars of the café meeting came to share the lunchtime picnic, prepared by the school restaurant. “We feasted our eyes and our palate. Because it was as beautiful as it was good,” emphasizes Marie-Claude. Wraps, raw vegetables, cod acras, squid fritters, chicken and ice creams delighted young and old. The elders and young people then prepared pancakes and toast for the evening buffet.

For this first day of the game, 105 children were registered. All the decorations in the center were made by the children and their leaders. They were then able to enjoy all the activities spread across the center space and the school: oversized games and traditional games (Dutch billiards, checkers, table hockey, bowling, power 4, sumo fight, giant domino ‘) but also outdoor games (water games, sand games, duck fishing) or even precision games (turn everything upside down, inflatable structure, motor skills course, dart shooting’), scientific, artistic or musical.

From 4 p.m., parents were invited to join their children to play together. “It was with pleasure that we saw the parents arrive to collect their little ones and stay to have fun with them,” explains Cathia Barrière, children’s and youth assistant. Like Élodie and Marjolaine who competed in a sumo match, “we become children again. We share a good time. I regret not having been able to have fun in the giant inflatable structure,” jokes Élodie.

The mayor, Pascal Protano, congratulated the director, the team of facilitators and the municipal agents for the success of this day.

Élodie and Marjolaine tried their hand at sumo wrestling under the amused gaze of the children.
