“Major Outage”: Xbox services unavailable

This Tuesday, July 2, the various Xbox services are victims of a huge outage which affects all of its consoles and platforms.

A Tuesday evening that was complicated to say the least for Microsoft. Since 8:30 p.m., the various Microsoft services linked to Xbox have been facing a breakdown described as “major” by the company on its website dedicated to technical problems.

A “major” outage affecting all Xbox services

This concerns features related to account login, so it is not possible to log in to your Xbox and Microsoft account on Xbox Series X, S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, but also Xbox.com, the Xbox app on Windows, or the cloud gaming platform, Xbox Cloud Gaming (from the web, iOS, Android or via the PC app), as well as Game Pass.

“You may not be able to sign in to your Xbox profile (…) features that require sign-in, such as most games, apps, and social activity, will not be available,” Microsoft wrote.

As a direct consequence of this major outage, it is not possible to play online since this requires being connected to your Xbox account.

However, you can continue to play offline the various games already installed and which do not require an internet connection.

Microsoft has not provided details on when this issue will be resolved.
