6TH DISTRICT. An image unimaginable a few months, even a few weeks ago, which became reality in a few days. More than 300 people gathered yesterday morning in the city center of Sainte-Suzanne at the home of a historic PCR activist, Bergamain Velliama, to support the candidacy of Alexandre Laï-Kane-Cheong and his deputy, Florence Chane- You do not. All in the presence of the tenors of the Reunion platform, Ericka Bareigts, Maurice Gironcel, Patrice Selly and Olivier Hoarau. Several elected officials from the majority of Sainte-Suzanne are present as well as the departmental councilor, René Sotaca.
The leader of Croire et oser once again justifies the union thus sealed: “We must not be ashamed of what unites us, of the contradictions on which we reflect (…) My koné not the pig eating behind the kitchen but mi koné on the other hand the value and the taste of our suffering and our pain can give us privacy in the back kitchen.” To his eyes : “Politics is not a question of division, of brothers against sisters, of family against family, but of reunion.”
“THE EMERS, WE WALK ON THEM”
And throw: “Some see politics as blowing on the embers, the problem is that we, the embers, step on them!” He judges again to have “gaining maturity, I am ready to assume with your confidence the responsibilities that I propose to us, to be the singular voice of insularity, a facilitator with ministries.”
The outgoing MP is not forgotten: “It’s very nice to have fun in the Assembly, very moving, but where is the effectiveness? I prefer to play a little less guitar but to write a prettier score for my friend!” Also a reason for his union: “I will be happy tomorrow to reflect with the president of Cinor, that of Cirest, Ericka Bareigts and all the elected officials to resolve the problems”like the risk of flooding in the district.
It calls for an area-wide development model: “We cannot live properly if our brother and sister group next door are in a precarious situation.” And to launch an appeal “responsibility, humanity, if the seditious ideas of a certain populism gain a little too much tomorrow in Matignon or in the National Assembly there is a risk of fracturing our identity.”
