Montauban: two priests ordained this June 30

Deacon Jean-Baptiste Baudel and Brother Elias Ngendabanyikwa will be ordained priests for the diocese of Montauban this June 30 at 4 p.m.; we are told that these are also the last two seminarians in the diocese, who should therefore not experience a new ordination for several years. They will be ordained on June 30 in the Saint-Jacques church in Montauban.

Father Jean-Baptiste Baudel published an invitation to the faithful for his ordination on the diocese website:

I am Father Jean-Baptiste Baudel, I am 29 years old and come from Tarn-et-Garonne, from Castelsarrasin to be exact. Gascon and proud of it, it is to you today, Tarn-et-Garonnais, that I extend this invitation. On June 30, Monsignor Alain Guellec, Bishop of Montauban, will ordain me a priest for eternity. I would like to share this moment with you.

You are therefore widely invited to this event, which will take place in the Saint-Jacques de Montauban church, at 4:00 p.m. Also invite your neighbors and acquaintances, who may have never seen the ordination of a priest.

I will be a priest for you. It is for all of you that we give our lives, to accompany you in yours, in the joys, but also in the sorrows. The priest is also the man of the mass, of the sacred. Mass is, in a mysterious way, a time of communion of men with God and with each other: living and dead.

I thus wish to be a bridge, as Saint John Paul II said, a man of communion between you and God. This is what makes me happy today. So come share this joy with me on June 30!
