It is also a football festival which arouses enormous enthusiasm: Switzerland and Germany meet for the 54e time in history, the first in a final phase since the 1966 World Cup, this Sunday evening at Euro football. How many Swiss supporters will follow this event, either behind their small screen, or from inside the Frankfurt stadium or simply from a fans zone? It’s difficult to quantify. But the party had already started on Saturday evening in Frankfurt. A man is very well placed to talk about it, he comes from Brévine and his name is Luca Bonnet. The president of the Cold Festival also became, somewhat by chance, the official DJ of the Swiss Football Association: “Last September, Nati fans were gathered in a bar in Pristina, after the draw obtained against Kosovo. I went to the owner of the establishment with a view to broadcasting Swiss music. At first, he didn’t really agree. But when he saw his bar was filling up, he changed his mind. He even left me the keys and the party continued.” This is what Luca Bonnet recounts, not without humor, who will also remember that an ASF official was present that night: he understood that Brévinier was not afraid… in his eyes and that it was was an outstanding entertainer.

As an official commitment to the ASF, the Swiss Football Association, Luca Bonnet received a Swiss team jersey with the inscription “DJ Bonnet” on the back. His role is close to his heart today. In Frankfurt, it is he who is behind the decks during this Sunday afternoon in a city square where the Swiss supporters are gathered: “Unlike the two previous matches, we cannot organize a procession to go to the stadium, 6 kilometers away. This time it’s too complicated,” explains this unconditional supporter, well known, not only to the Nati, but also to HC La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Germany – Switzerland: it’s at 9 p.m. in Frankfurt, this Sunday evening. The Mannschaft is already qualified for the round of 16 of the competition. The Nati must collect a point to be assured of mathematically holding their destiny in hand and continuing the tournament. /mne
