The first edition of the Old Book Fair continues this Sunday, June 23, at the ducal palace in Nevers.

Books on art, history, architecture, or even on Nevers… There is time to spend in the rooms on the 2nd floor of the ducal palace of Nevers, where the ancient book fair is held until Sunday June 23.

This first edition, organized by L’Amicale des bouquinistes Bourgogne Berry et la Ville, is also an opportunity to (re)discover bookbinding and its history, through an exhibition lent to the Jean-Jaurès media library by that of Moulins. “We also present a selection of different pieces from the Jean-Jaurès media library,” indicates its director, Jean-François Lefebure, who contributed to the selection with Ionna Le Corre, responsible for heritage collections.

Unusual bindings

The unusual bindings of Neversois Gaston Pagnard.

Visitors can thus see pieces from a legacy of Gaston Pagnard (1904-1985). The Neversois produced unusual bindings in snake skins, eel skins, mosaics, etc. Or more contemporary, a metal binding for example, by the renowned craftsman Florent Rousseau.

Sunday June 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the ducal palace, entrance to rue Sabatier in Nevers. Free.
