A 19-year-old man was indicted in particular for terrorist conspiracy. The minor was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on June 13.

A 19-year-old young man was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Friday June 21, suspected, with another minor already prosecuted, “of having considered committing violent action, targeting, in particular, Jewish targets”indicated a judicial source, confirming information from BFMTV.

He was indicted for terrorist conspiracy with a view to preparing crimes of harm to persons, acquisition and possession of weapons in relation to a terrorist enterprise, detailed the judicial source. The minor had been “indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on June 13”.

The two suspects, domiciled in Ile-de-France, “linked via social networks, are accused of having considered committing violent action, targeting, in particular, Jewish targets”specified the same source, without giving more details on the intended targets. “The investigations, which will continue as part of the judicial information”opened by the national anti-terrorism prosecution (Pnat), “will aim in particular to clarify the nature of the project”she added.

No details on the profiles of the two young men and how they were spotted have been communicated.

Anti-terrorism magistrates are concerned about the increasing appearance in recent months of adolescents or young adults in cases involving violent action plans. “It’s a necessarily worrying phenomenon”judged Olivier Christen, the anti-terrorism prosecutor, on Wednesday during a presentation hearing.

This case comes in a context marked by the anti-Semitic rape of a young 12-year-old girl in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine) which aroused strong emotion in the Jewish community and beyond. Two 13-year-old boys were indicted and imprisoned on Tuesday, notably for gang rape, death threats, insults and anti-Semitic violence.

A third, aged 12, placed under the status of assisted witness for the rape and indicted for the other offenses, was the subject of a provisional educational measure. Several rallies in support of the young victim and against anti-Semitism have been organized in the middle of the electoral campaign in recent days, including one Friday afternoon in Courbevoie.
