A step has been taken in the realization of the Grand Casablanca Stadium project with the allocation of an impressive amount of 360 million dirhams for the preparation work of the land that will host this large-scale sports infrastructure.

Located in the province of Benslimane, precisely in the district of Mansouria, this future jewel of Moroccan sport promises to revolutionize the football landscape in Morocco and to strengthen the country’s capacities in terms of organizing sporting events of international scope.

The allocated budget marks the start of field interventions, which consist of a series of preliminary works necessary to prepare the ground and basic infrastructure before the actual construction of the stadium. The latter will be built on a land area of 100 hectares, approximately 38 kilometers east of Casablanca. Once completed, the Stade Grand Casablanca will stand out with a prodigious capacity of 115,000 spectators, making it one of the largest stadiums on the African continent.

The design of this iconic stadium has been entrusted to a team of international experts. The consortium brings together renowned players such as Moroccan engineer Tarek Oualalou, recognized for his contributions to the field of modern architecture, in collaboration with international firms such as Populous Limited, ME Engineers Ltd, Maffeis Engineering SPA, and Rider Levett Bucknall UK Limited. These companies have expertise in the design and construction of world-class football stadiums, ensuring that the project will meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

The call for tenders for the various phases of construction will be launched next August, marking the beginning of the selection phase of the companies that will participate in the physical construction of this monumental building. The transparency and rigor surrounding this process illustrate the commitment of the Moroccan authorities to ensure the smooth running and success of this strategic project.

The Grand Casablanca Stadium project is part of Morocco’s strategic vision aimed at developing and modernizing its sports infrastructure. This stadium will not only be a temple dedicated to football, but also an important lever for the economic and tourist development of the Benslimane region. Indeed, the creation of such an infrastructure is likely to attract national and international visitors, thus generating significant economic benefits for the region.
